RODDY THE POODLE
PERSONAL PROJECT
As an obsessed dog mom, I realized that my poodle should be famous.
When we would explore Atlanta, so many people would ask if they could take photos of my dog and it would inconvenience us quite a bit.
I came up with the idea to create my poodle Roddy his own Instagram profile where his fans could marvel at his looks from a distance and have the photos of him that were approved for sharing.
This Instagram account doubles as a personal blog of my life with Roddy, so it was fitting that I provide Roddy with his very own brand identity and logo.
The development of Roddy's brand was derived from the reality of how fluffy he is.
I wanted the brand to be very "black and white" since he is a "blue" poodle. I consider him as my child, and often call him "poodle-boy"; so I intentionally included hints retro color schemes associated with baby boys.
The main logo is a hand-drawn element vectored from an original pen & ink sketch. I spent 60 days drawing Roddy in different forms and variations.
